Mother in UK forced 14-year-old to get pregnant

Mother in UK forced 14-year-old to get pregnant

Updated 8:54 am, Monday, April 29, 2013
LONDON (AP) — A woman desperate for another child forced her 14-year-old daughter to get pregnant using syringes of donor sperm, a British judge said.
In a ruling reported for the first time Monday, High Court judge Peter Jackson said the mother had behaved in "a wicked and selfish way" that almost defied belief.
The judge said the woman, an American divorcee living in Britain with three adopted children, hatched the plan after she was prevented from adopting a fourth.
The scheme involved getting her oldest daughter to inseminate herself with syringes of sperm purchased over the Internet from a Denmark-based company, Cryos International.
Jackson said the daughter, identified only as A, "became pregnant at the mother's request, using donor sperm bought by the mother, with the purpose of providing a fourth child for the mother to bring up as her own."
In his ruling, the judge quoted the teenager as saying said she was shocked by the suggestion, but thought, "If I do this ... maybe she will love me more."
"My mum is a very determined person and she does her best not to let anything get in her way if she wants it," the teenager added.
The judge said the mother also made the teenager use douches of vinegar or lemon and lime juice in hopes of increasing her chances of having a girl.
The judge said it was likely but not certain that the daughter soon became pregnant and suffered a miscarriage. After six more attempts with the donor sperm, she gave birth to a baby boy in July 2011, when she was 17.
But midwives at the hospital became alarmed by the odd behavior of A's mother. Her daughter wanted to breastfeed the baby, but her mother said: "We don't want any of that attachment thing."
The hospital alerted the authorities, and the children were taken into foster care. The mother is now serving a five-year jail term for child cruelty.
Details of the case were heard during proceedings at the family division of the High Court over the children's future last year. They were reported for the first time Monday after several British media organizations, including the publisher of The Guardian newspaper, challenged reporting restrictions.
A court order bars identifying the family members in order to protect the children.

Warm in the bay...

04-29) 08:44 PDT SAN FRANCISCO -- Temperatures will be 10 to 20 degrees higher than average Monday and it will be "warm, warm, warm and warm" all week, a National Weather Service meteorologist said.
"We are expecting temperatures inland to get up into the upper 80s and low 90s," said meteorologist Christine Riley. "So, well above normal."
It's unlikely any high-temperature records will be set Monday except perhaps in San Rafael, which is forecast to top out at 88 degrees, one degree short of the 1957 record.
But for the rest of the week, records are definitely in jeopardy, Riley said.
"Every day this week there is a possibility," she said. "Tuesday will be warm. Wednesday looks warm as well. Thursday, warm. Friday, warm - actually, it looks like Friday might be the warmest day of the week."
Downright hot, actually, especially inland, where highs in the upper 90s are forecast. San Francisco could see the 80s.
A high-pressure bubble over the Eastern Pacific is keeping the air still and warm, Riley said.
"Oh, I'm going to the beach after work," Riley said. "We live so close, why not?"

Jets Release Tim Tebow

Adam Schefter discusses the report that the Jets have release QB Tim Tebow.

One year after bringing Tim Tebow to Broadway, creating a nationwide fascination that slowly evolved into a salacious controversy, the New York Jets made the long-anticipated move Monday of releasing one of the NFL's most popular players.

The Jets confirmed the release in a three-paragraph news release, a long way from his Super Bowl-sized news conference last March.

Tebow's Top 10

Tim Tebow's days in a New York Jets uniform have come to an end. ESPNNewYork.com looks back on his Big Apple experience. Tebow's Top 10

"We have a great deal of respect for Tim Tebow," coach Rex Ryan said. "Unfortunately, things did not work out the way we all had hoped.  Tim is an extremely hard worker, evident by the shape he came back in this offseason. We wish him the best moving forward."

So ends one of the strangest chapters in team history -- maybe in league history.

Tebow received rock-star media coverage from the moment he arrived. His introductory news conference last March drew more than 200 media members, highly unusual for a backup quarterback. The Jets were criticized for the excess.

After using a second-round pick on Geno Smith, the Jets had six quarterbacks on the roster and someone had to go. The Jets tried for months to trade Tebow, sources said. His release was earlier reported by the New York Post.

Tebow attended the first two weeks of the off-season program. In fact, he reported 12 pounds under his 2012 playing weight. Despite vague comments by team officials, they never had any intention of retaining him.

The Tebow trade never came close to living up to the hype, as Tebow played in only 72 offensive snaps. It became apparent late in the season that he'd be one-and-done in New York.

The final Tebow bill: It cost the Jets a fourth-round pick and $1.5 million in salary, plus another $2.5 million they had to pay the Denver Broncos to satisfy part of the trade agreement.

The ill-fated trade also contributed to the demise of general manager Mike Tannenbaum, who was fired after the 6-10 season.

"It's just a trade that didn't work out," Tannenbaum told ESPNNewYork.com after the season. "Each year, we'll make 200-plus transactions. Some worked out, some didn't."

The Jets will have an open competition at quarterback, but at no point did they consider retaining Tebow, whose next move will be the source of intense speculation. He became expendable when the Jets signed David Garrard and drafted Smith.

Many figured he'd wind up playing for his hometown team, the Jacksonville Jaguars, but the new GM, Dave Caldwell, shut down that idea at his first news conference in January.

Tebow could help his chances by agreeing to switch positions, several league executives said, but he wants to remain a quarterback.

He recently spent time at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla., honing his oft-criticized mechanics with former NFL quarterback-turned-instructor Chris Weinke. He also worked out in the Tampa area with former Jets quarterback Vinny Testaverde.

Known for his eternal optimism, Tebow has refused to bash his New York experience.

"I felt like it was a learning opportunity for me," he said at the end of the season, reflecting on the year that wasn't. "There was a lot that I'll take from it. There's a lot that I learned and there are lot of relationships that I've built, so I know that it happened for a reason."

His brief stay was surreal at times, never lacking for drama.

Tannenbaum predicted Tebow would be a "dynamic weapon" in the Wildcat offense, but the Tebow package never became a staple in the offense. Coordinator Tony Sparano never found a way to use him, and their relationship became strained, sources said.

The low point came late in the season, when Rex Ryan benched Mark Sanchez and elevated third-stringer Greg McElroy to the starting job, infuriating Tebow. He expressed his displeasure in a meeting with Ryan and was replaced in the Wildcat, with sources telling ESPNNewYork.com that Tebow asked out.

Tebow, who led the Broncos to a playoff win only one year earlier, finished with modest numbers: Eight pass attempts, six completions, 32 rushes for 102 yards and no touchdowns.

And countless headlines in the New York tabloids.

Shine and rise time!!

Your Darz rose before the chickens (4am) and proceeding about his early day when all of the sudden hit by exhaustion. I think the chickens drugged your Darz. They are evil birds. Dont let that cluck cluck peck peck fool you. Just like most americans they will do anything to get ahead. I suggest you do also!!:)
