Timothy McCrohan, 52, was arrested at his mother's home in Vallejo. He was booked into Sonoma County jail under $250,000 bail.
PETALUMA, CA -- Petaluma police said today they arrested a Vallejo man Thursday night for his 10th DUI.
Sgt. Ken Savano said James Timothy McCrohan, 52, was arrested at 11 p.m. at his mother's home in Vallejo. He was booked into Sonoma County jail under $250,000 bail. When McCrohan was arrested for what was his ninth DUI in Petaluma on July 10 after his vehicle collided with a center concrete median, officers were not aware of his five previous DUI arrests beyond the three that showed up on his driving record, Savano said.
McCrohan posted bail and was released from Sonoma County jail.
On Monday, McCrohan was ordered by Sonoma County Superior Court Judge Shelly Averill to wear a bracelet that monitors alcohol use and to install an ignition interlock device on his vehicle, Savano said.
On Tuesday, McCrohan caused two separate, non-injury collisions on Highway 37 in Novato and on U.S. Highway 101 in San Rafael, Savano said.
Marin County authorities were unaware of McCrohan's pending DUI case in Sonoma County and arrested him for misdemeanor DUI based on the two previous DUI arrests that appeared on his driving record, Savano said. McCrohan posted bail and was released from Marin County jail.
When Petaluma police learned of McCrohan's eight previous DUI arrests between October 26, 1976 and June 26, 2002, they got a $250,000 felony arrest warrant for his arrest.
He was then located at his mother's Vallejo home and booked into Sonoma County jail, Savano said.
McCrohan was added to the list of habitual DUI offenders that are monitored by the Petaluma Police Department, Savano said.
McCrohan is scheduled to appear in Sonoma County Superior Court on Monday.
